Data: Van Registrations Giving Hope of Recovery

Despite an overall slowing of the van market over the last year (as expected), the latest figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) is painting a more promising recovery for the van market, as latest figures show.

The LCV market recorded its busiest ever April on records, with 30,440 new vans registered. Heavy vans have also done well, with registrations so far for the year almost doubling compared to the same period in 2020, up 84,374 compared with 42,749 recorded in the first four months of last year.

Despite the fragility of the market (with new vans experiencing a slower supply due to issues with the supply of semiconductors), it would appear that as more businesses are reopening and home deliveries continuing to be popular, the van market is beginning to bounce back.
